What Do We Do?

1. LISTEN & TAKE NOTES
We listen. You're the expert. You know your body better than we ever could. You’re the only one who can tell us what works and what doesn’t. So, we listen, take notes, and ask a lot of questions. We want to know when it hurts, what you were doing, when it feels better, and when it is worse. The movements and activities that you do each day tell a lot about what works well and what doesn’t.

2. PHOTO EVIDENCE
We take a series of four standing photographs, no shoes, no socks, just shorts, and a shirt. We look at them together. We ask what you see and then we give you our opinion. We assess the position of the joints and explain the problems that can result from misalignment. This is instructive, as most of us have no idea how we stand or move. We take new photographs every few sessions, so you can see the improvement as well as feel it.

3. RANGE OF MOTION ASSESSMENT
After the photographs, we do a Range of Motion assessment, starting with 10-12 muscle movements and ease of motion tests. Every joint’s range of motion is a direct reflection of a muscle group’s strength, lack of balance, and muscular weakness. A muscle group that is too strong is just as harmful to you as a muscle group that is too weak. Balance is the goal. This series of tests points us to the real, underlying problems, not just to the symptoms.

4. THERAPEUTIC MENUS & NEUROMUSCULAR TREATMENTS
Once the evaluation is completed (to be reviewed and updated each session), we draw on a series of over 600 standing, floor, wall, and sitting exercises to restore function and range of motion. Later, perhaps by the second session, we will employ a system of focused muscle energy or muscle activation techniques. These techniques will light up neural pathways and enable weak or rigid muscles to start working immediately, easing pain and promoting flexibility. You'll walk out of each session feeling a great deal better.

5. TAKE-HOME EXERCISES
At the end of the session, we will give you a therapeutic exercise “menu” of at-home workouts to return your body to its optimal function. Each menu is unique and tailored to you. Our database of over 600 exercises has easy-to-follow photographs and explanations, so the at-home work will always be on target, challenging, and restorative.
