What Do We Do?

1. We listen. You're the expert. You know your body, what works and what doesn't, better than we ever could. So, we listen, take notes, even ask a few questions.

2. We then take a series of four standing photographs, print them out and look at them together. We ask what you see and then we give you our view. We then assess the positions the joint are in and use these graphics to demonstrate the problems they can cause. We may even take new photographs at every session, so you can see the improvement as well as feel it. It's exciting.

3. Next, we do a Range of Motion assessment, starting with 10-12 muscle movement and ease of motion tests. These tests highlight imbalances and muscular weaknesses in the entire body, pointing us to the real problems, not just to the symptoms.

4. Once the assessment is completed, we use Muscle Activation and Energy Techniques®, which light up neural pathways and enable weak or inflexible muscles to start working immediately, easing pain and inflexibility. You'll walk out of your first session feeling a whole lot better.

5. We then create a menu of at-home exercises to return your body to functioning normally. Your menu is unique, tailored to you. We have a  database of over 500 exercises with easy-to-follow photographs, so the menus will always be on target, challenging, and restorative.

Why Start with Alignment?

what_we_do1

Because common pains from the neck to the foot are almost always the result of structural misalignment and muscular weakness.

Muscular weakness permits or forces structural imbalances. If one muscle group is weak, another group has to take over, working overtime to compensate for the others' lack of strength. Eventually, the overworked groups just quit. These imbalances throw your body out of alignment, and you begin to suffer.

We want to identify and correct the underlying cause of muscular imbalances. Knowing how you got hurt will not make you well. We're much more interested in what you do now that causes you pain.

We don't chase pain. Pain is a symptom, telling you that something is wrong, signaling that your body isn't ready to do what you want it to do. We can use that signal to direct us to the body's imbalances and correct them.

The misalignment caused by muscular imbalances can be observed by a practiced eye, but we confirm it with "hands-on" clinical testing methods. We test a muscle's range of motion first, as that is often an indicator of weakness. If that doesn't provide enough information, we test for active muscular response, comparing one muscle's reaction to the other.

Muscles work in pairs or groups. We use isometric exercises within corrective positions, energizing "forgetful", overworked, or disused muscles, those muscles traumatized by surgery or accident. Our focus is on specific neuro-muscular communication or lack of it.

Our goal is to wake up weak muscles and to improve neural communication among muscle groups. The body will then reclaim its natural balance and alignment. Once these muscle groups are working together, postural alignment is easily restored and maintained.

You need Alignment to give you Balance and Control. With these three assets, your body can do anything you want it to do. Without them, your body won't let you move.

Why not? Muscles value stability, not mobility. You can ask the muscles to move that unstable joint, but the end result will be pain, the body's signal to stop. It's a signal that tells us we should correct a structural imbalance or muscle weakness.

The ABC's of BodyFix Method are your road map to health.

The specialists at BodyFix Method® have these four goals to accomplish with each client, depending on his or her needs, issues and abilities:

1. Identify anatomical dysfunction and limitations.

2. Restore and maintain the body's full range of motion.

3. Enhance the performance of recreational athletes, just like professional athletes.

4. Provide a "Method" to overcome physical limitations, one that can be used again and again.
